Comparison of free Currency Converter apps for iOS
There is a whole bunch of currency converters available for iOS devices (iPhone, iPod, iPad) that are either free or paid. While most of them do the same job – of providing exchange rates from one currency to other – we have compared five of them below. Displays thumbnail flags for the corresponding currencies.
Just add your currency and currencies that you would like to compare and you will be able to monitor the exchange rates at a glance.
Manual or automatic refresh
Refresh intervals range from every hour to every day.
One of the features that makes this app stand apart from others is that you can add as many currencies as you want.

Choose a conversion rate depending on if you pay with cash or credit card.
Saves up to six recently used currencies.
Cannot compare multiple currencies on one screen.

xe.com is a well-known site for forex trading.
Pull down to refresh feature on the main screen
Provides trend charts for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 1 year between two currencies.
Set number of decimals of exchange rate.
Click on a particular currency to set the amount and display the exchange rates for all others.
The downside of this app is that you can add only 10 currencies to your list.

XE Currency Converter

Basic currency converter.
No exchange rates list.
Ability to swap the to/from currencies. Simply tap the swap button in the top left.
Shows the date/time when the currency was updated.

Can add multiple currencies.
Shows the date/time when the currency was updated.
Can have different background themes.
The worst thing about this app is that if you click anywhere in the app, it will stop your music (if you’re listening to while using this) and have it’s own click-sounds.
No settings to stop the click-sounds.
